Onsite Physiotherapy

HIPA’s Onsite Physiotherapy service is a proven approach to Early Intervention Management of work related injuries. We triage and treat any injuries that do occur as soon as possible with the ultimate aim to keep workers at work, educate workers on the many factors that lead to injuries outside of work tasks, and help promote injury prevention on returning to work.

Manual Workforces have numerous musculoskeletal injuries, primarily in the lower back and shoulder and elbow regions. This is due to the manual handling tasks that employees are required to complete places increased load through these weaker areas of the body which are more susceptible to injury.

Physiotherapists are specialists in musculoskeletal injuries and have the unique skill set which enables them to assist in both triaging and treating musculoskeletal injuries.

Benefits of having HIPA’s Onsite Physiotherapy

Injuries may often have lengthy rehabilitation times as well as be a financial strain to the company due to onerous Return-to-Work and Workcover issues. Many external practitioners are paid on a per patient basis and as such will draw out the return-to-work process for their own financial benefit rather than the benefit of the injured worker.

The early detection and triage of injuries lead to earlier management and treatment. Having a physiotherapist onsite helps assist this process and employees and employers benefit greatly. Employees requiring physiotherapy and rehabilitation do not need to travel unnecessarily and take time off work to attend appointments. They are also only seen for essential hands on treatment and are encouraged to take a more active approach to their rehabilitation and encouraged to progressively return to work educated and supported onsite every step of the way.

Monitoring injured employees onsite also helps streamline the referral process to other Health Practitioners (ie: Surgical Consultations, Rehabilitation and/or Counselling). Employees can be directed to more appropriate means of treatment more efficiently.

Another benefit of Onsite Physiotherapy is that our HIPA consultants can liaise directly with Occupational Health and Safety Staff and Return to Work Coordinators to improve communication and simplify the Return Work process for both worker and employer.

Return to Work

Our HIPA Consultants have considerable experience in Return to Work (RTW) programs.

HIPA works in conjunction with the Return-To-Work Administrative staff and the injured worker to streamline the process to help employees recover and return to their pre-injury duties sooner.

From assessing an injured worker’s functional capacity to implementing a modified return to work program, HIPA Consultants are always at hand to fast-track this process.

Job Analysis and Worksite Assessments are also completed by HIPA following incidents to both assist in an injured worker’s successful return to work as well as helping prevent these injuries from occurring in the future to other workers.
